WHAT DOES YOUR FINANCIAL FUTURE LOOK LIKE?

How seeing it changes everything
So, you’re a successful woman in her 50s – maybe running her own business or in a senior role in a corporate organisation. You know that change is coming – you’d like to reduce your hours, maybe spend more time with family, or start a business you’ve always dreamed of, or maybe you’d like to retire completely. The problem is, you have no idea how much money you need to make the change, and the numbers feel abstract and scary.

You’ve been saving diligently into a pension, and maybe some ISAs, but knowing it will be enough for that new project, or to last longer than you do, is another matter. You know you should get a grip on those numbers, but life gets in the way. So you go back to your safe place – staying as you are.
If that sounds familiar, the data backs you up. Among women aged 55-59, the gender pension gap stands at 48% - and retired women end up with £7,600 a year less than men. And that makes sense, given that women are often the ones taking career breaks for caring responsibilities and losing out on vital pension contributions.

But what if you could get on top of those numbers, and see the future from a financial perspective? Imagine if that future, which looked hazy and uncertain, could become concrete and navigable, with a clear path from where you are today to where you want to be? That’s where working with a financial planning tool can make a huge difference. Rather than working with rough estimates, we map out your actual numbers across income, savings, and assets – so you can clearly see your financial future, not just imagine it.
When you’ve actually seen the real numbers mapped out into the future, it gives you real confidence about what’s possible, whether that’s retiring early, launching something new or simply buying back your time, and gives you the clarity to take your next step.

I know what this feels like – I have been there myself. I might be a “numbers” person, but I didn’t always know what my own numbers meant! I only got a grip on those when I turned 50 and thought I should really take responsibility for my own future, as no-one else would. Actually, I started with my own spreadsheets, and that helped me get the clarity around my own position, and what I needed to do to have enough to leave the corporate world and live a life where I can work where I want, when I want, and fit in amazing trips in my campervan too. The spreadsheet was great, but not everyone loves them! When I tested it on my own numbers, I had a clear picture within an hour.
As I’ve found, and I hope you do too – financial clarity isn’t just about security, it’s about helping you design the life you want to lead.
